In the Bible...
I obviously study the Bible closer than most (or I am sooo absent minded that I spot such things), because I noticed something I have never heard anyone point out before. Looky here:
Which show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)
-Romans 2:15
Did you catch it? No? try again:
Which show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)
-Romans 2:15
Apparently, God was a such a big fan of emotes (smiles, emoticons, whatever floats your boat), that he didn't even wait for them to get popular, he used some in the Bible; 50 winks, 40 smileys, and 40 one-eyed aliens - to be exact...
(For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;)
-Lev 18:27
And Moses said unto the LORD, Then the Egyptians shall hear it, (for thou broughtest up this people in thy might from among them;)
-Num 14:13
And sixteen thousand persons;)
-Num 31:46
(As the children of Esau which dwell in Seir, and the Moabites which dwell in Ar, did unto me;) until I shall pass over Jordan into the land which the LORD our God giveth us.
-Due 2:29
(Which Hermon the Sidonians call Sirion; and the Amorites call it Shenir;)
-Deu 3:9
(Which Hermon the Sidonians call Sirion; and the Amorites call it Shenir;)
-Deu 3:9
(For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he swore unto them.
-Deu 4:31
But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)
-Gen 49:24
Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:)
-Exo 23:15
And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:)
-Exo 32:25
If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me; (yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy:)
-Psa 7:4
When I applied mine heart to know wisdom, and to see the business that is done upon the earth: (for also there is that neither day nor night seeth sleep with his eyes:)
-Ecc 8:16
And they ascended by the south, and came unto Hebron; where Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)
-Num 13:22
And the Avims which dwelt in Hazerim, even unto Azzah, the Caphtorims, which came forth out of Caphtor, destroyed them, and dwelt in their stead.)
-Deu 2:23
(Now the children of Benjamin heard that the children of Israel were gone up to Mizpeh.) Then said the children of Israel, Tell us, how was this wickedness?
-Jdg 20:3
(Also he bade them teach the children of Judah the use of the bow: behold, it is written in the book of Jasher.)
-2Sa 1:18
...You get the picture. Isn't that cool? With the way I study the text, maybe I should write a commentary or systematic theology or something...or maybe not ;)

jeffrey, that is amazing! i never noticed anything like that before. i think too many of us have a great deficiency of immagination about GOD and Who He is. Perhaps if we would think of Him as "Creator" instead of just "God", we would get a little most excited about His Word and His works. You pointed out a neat illustration of how He amazes His children with little "coincidences".
That's really cool! I have noticed stuff similar to that, but I never thought that much about it.... very comical... and I'm leaving a smiley face. Considering the post I think it fits. here they are:
