Happiness is a simple thought
But Joy a gem more finely wrought
By choice instead of circumstance;
Rejoicing happens not by chance.
A smile of happiness is sweet;
A joyous smile, more firm, complete.
Value living, liberty,
But happiness as naught to thee.
Choose Joy, and find thyself more free.

but how, praytell, can we chuse joy? most certainly it is the Holy Spirit which causes us to "chuse".
