what is facebook?

what's funny is this post will also be syndicated by my publisher to facebook. i love syndication, it's Really Simple (rotflol, if you know what i mean.)

i don't feel in the mood to capitalize properly, i'll make up for it later.

can someone please explain the purpose of facebook to me? i think i once knew, but i sort of forgot.

let me tell you what i thought facebook was. i was under the impression it was like this hip place for kool kats to logon and keep up wit their peeps. but no, that's incorrect, it seems.

apparently, facebook is the place where random nobodies ask to be your friend, and then all the nobodies send you a request to install every single facebook application to your profile - and then - those applications send you your email inbox's capacity of messages telling you...

"Harry Bladder has sent you a piece of flair, would you like to view his/her gift to you?";

"Mary Sue [who happens to be your mother] just poked you, would you like to poke him/her back?";

"Jim Bob Dungaree has invited you to join the group 'Dorky acne-ridden minimum wage earning teenage employees of McDonald's on the corner of Second and Main. -DARMWETEMOTCSM'. click here to view the group."

so, that's insanely annoying, but it can be stopped while still retaining your membership to facebook. now what? i took a quick poll (meaning, continued my irritating habit of watching my friends browse the web over their shoulder) to find out. they sit there, at facebook.com/flair, looking at stupid 3D buttons with clever messages that you look at, laugh at, and then send them to your 'friends'. that's dumber than alphabetizing dead lobster.

in the first place, you really need to be clicking stupidly on ads at the excellence in dishwashing network site, not facebook. and secondly, there's never been a better time to invest in gold. and third, what does that mean, face book? like a book for your face? i don't even know what that means. and fourthly, you really only need one flair, and your set for life.

huh?

What do you mean I haven't updated the blog in a long time? The fantastic content already enlightening the world on this here blog does not require updating.
*snob-like laugh* What's wrong with you?

If there's nothing new here, read the older stuff. Why? Well, I humbly submit to you; it's timeless blogging, dude.

Anyway, I'm done scolding you, so here's a first on the EID Network... a press photo. Of me. That's right, I noticed a lot of execs of websites, business, and hot dog stands have what they call press photos of themselves. So this is for you... My press photo:

you is welcome.

08 indys [CAUTION: DISTURBING IMAGE(S)]

With Sen. McCain the presumptive Republican nominee, true conservatives like me can't vote Republican...so I am considering all the independents running for election in 08...
...except him.

I would have to say I've never seen a more hysterical campaign poster. I died laughing for like five minutes when I saw it.

That scary looking dude is Frank Moore, independent communist running for office. It is now official, folks, liberalism is not only a mental disorder, but it can also lead to debilitating eww-ness.

How insane does this guy have to be think he has a chance? The thought of him being president is not even a lame joke. It should be a crime to tell "certain" people they could be the next president.

*in case you missed it, i don't support franky.

@harley
I don't see the connection between Bass Pro, and Frank Moore, but, as they say, to each his own.
Thanks for enlightening yourself at the EID studios, and make sure you check out those shoes at Bass Pro, they're really nice.

the junk store

Hey, you...do you know about the EID junk store? It's our online clothing store where you can get some pretty sweet (like cream corn sweet) shirts, sweaters, and other junk. Of course, we rip you off in the process. You should check the store often for new additions.

Oh my.....why do I ever listen to your podcasts?
I guess it is somehow painfully delightful, like the persistent wiggling of a loose tooth.

and now... the invasion of the YOOT

The invasion has begun. It cannot be resisted. All that you can do is embrace the fact that The Nathanael - my 2 year old kid brother - is taking over YouTube.

never bet the devil your head

We at the EID Audio Studios are all avid fans of Edgar Allen Poe, a genius of a writer, with a clarity of writing unmatched by any author.

While scouring the history of radio productions broadcast before the creation of the EID Production Studios, we found a great dramatization of a very funny and satirical short story by Poe, "Never Bet the Devil Your Head - A Tale With A Moral", produced by the CBS Radio Workshop and originally broadcast on July 28, 1957. We would like to share with you this fantastic broadcast, please enjoy.
Never Bet the Devil Your Head
Produced by The CBS and rebroadcast for a new generation by The EID Network.

spaghetti sauce

Do you remember when spaghetti sauce was not salsa, but a smooth, creamy sauce? Back before jarred sauce, when it came in a can. Those were the days.
It's sauce, not salsa. Don't make it chunky.
What's the deal, spaghetti sauce companies?

suggest a podcast...

I live out in the country. To some, waaayyy out in the country. Thus, radio signals don't come in fantastically. Just so you know, I'm kind of late on the podcast scene...help me out.

So, I was checking out the podcasts on iTunes...

...and found the number of podcasts simply daunting! I have no idea where to start. I don't even know what I want to listen to.

What podcast(s) do you listen to or watch? Why don't you leave a comment with a list of your favorites?

Well, I just recently downloaded Itunes Radio a week or three ago - thanks to my great brother Austin - so i haven't spent much time exploring the airwaves. But I do have a few favorites so far:
1. Whisperings Solo Piano Radio - excellent soft background music to enjoy while doing school or something that takes considerable concentration.
2. AM 1710 Antioch - Old Time Radio!
3. Acapella - all styles of Christian Acapella
4. GotRadio - Jazz So Smooth

I like your signature but you don't have to bribe me with it. :)

Try the following (I think they would be Jeff Sr Approved):

Generations with a vision:
http://generationswithvision.com/

Mars Hill:
http://www.marshillaudio.org/

Covenant Radio:
http://www.covenantradio.com/

Heritage Foundation:
http://www.heritage.org/Press/Events/archive.cfm

These are not quite as exciting, but there is generally good information on these. Of course, I don't endorse 100% of anything these guys may say, but they are worth listening to. Also, I'm not sure if all have podcasts, you may have to download the mp3 and load it the old fashioned way.

Best Regards,

Matthew McBroom
